Ctrl’s Day 0 LTV beats the open market’s Day 30 LTV in every traffic tier.

Report Methodology

ByteBrew Ads is powered by our proprietary AI behavioral targeting engine, Ctrl.

Trained on petabytes of app data from billions of active users on ByteBrew, Ctrl delivers intelligent acquisition decisions by predicting which users are most likely to meet campaign goals in real time, then upstreaming them across a portfolio to create entirely new opportunities to monetize the most valuable users within an app ecosystem.

Deepening the analysis from our open market study here, this report examines Ctrl’s LTV performance across Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 cohorts compared to the open market. We benchmark Ctrl’s LTV uplift, early LTV window acceleration, and LTV velocity against the open market across traffic tiers.

Lifetime Value (LTV) in this report refers to the real cumulative revenue generated by a user since their originating install. Values shown are based on actual revenue from both in-app purchases and in-app advertising.

About the Users

For this study, users sourced from the open market were acquired through several networks, each with its own ad engine. These users were acquired across diverse geographies and multiple tiers to capture a broad range of traffic quality.

About the Apps

The apps in this study spanned multiple categories to provide broad genre coverage, including Casual, Action, Puzzle, and Simulation. Monetization across the portfolio included both in-app advertising and in-app purchases.

Ctrl LTV vs Open Market Analysis by Tier

To start, we analyze how Ctrl user LTV tracks against the open market in Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 traffic cohorts from Day 0 through Day 30.

Ctrl LTV vs open market by tier, Day 0 through Day 30

In Tier 1, Ctrl’s lead starts at +52.7% on D0 and scales to +77.5% by D30. Tier 2 follows the same pattern, with lift growing from +36.4% on D0 to +58.3% by D30. Tier 3 shows consistent uplift, with D0 starting at +56.4% and growing to +76.5% by D30. By D3, Ctrl is already delivering more than 50% LTV uplift in every traffic tier. See the growth visualized in the scaled heatmap pictured below.

Scaled heatmap — Ctrl LTV uplift by tier

Across all three tiers, Ctrl establishes a higher LTV baseline than the open market on install and continues widening that lead as the cohort matures through D30. The targeting advantage is not isolated to a single traffic quality band or monetization window, indicating Ctrl systematically identifies users with higher monetizing behaviors than the open market.

Ctrl Early LTV Window Acceleration vs Open Market by Tier

Next, we take a magnifying glass to the early monetization windows to see how cumulative LTV acceleration for Ctrl users compares to the open market. The earlier users monetize, the faster UA teams can make budget decisions and begin reinvesting to scale.

The figure below displays the LTV uplift of Ctrl users over the open market across Day 0, Day 1, and Day 3, highlighting that Ctrl outperforms the open market in every traffic tier, with each interval surpassing 50% lift by Day 3.

Ctrl vs open market LTV uplift on Day 0, Day 1, and Day 3 by tier

Placing Ctrl’s early LTV alongside the open market’s later-stage LTV reveals that Ctrl users’ Day 0 LTV is higher than open market Day 30 LTV in every tier.

Ctrl LTV Velocity vs Open Market by Tier

In this final section, we measure the velocity of LTV intervals at each stage of user windows Day 0 - 1, Day 1 - 3, Day 3 - 7, and Day 14 - 30 for each traffic tier. Velocity is measured as the rate of change in user LTV between the start and end of each interval. This analysis isolates the net pace of new monetization added between checkpoints.

Ctrl LTV velocity vs open market by tier

Mirroring the early interval acceleration analysis, the Day 0 - 1 and Day 1 - 3 intervals demonstrate significant monetization velocity for Ctrl user LTVs. Tier 2 traffic sources show a 490% and 370% higher growth rate across the Day 0 - 1 and Day 1 - 3 intervals, reinforcing that Ctrl’s monetization advantage is not limited to premium traffic tiers.

Beyond the early monetization windows, Ctrl’s LTV velocity remains strong deeper into the user lifecycle. In Tier 3, the Day 3 - 7 and Day 14 - 30 intervals measure 242% and 149% higher growth rates, illustrating that Ctrl’s performance continues well beyond install and into mature revenue windows. Stronger LTV velocity means Ctrl is not just driving higher total user value, but compressing the time it takes for that value to materialize.

Results

ByteBrew Ads’ AI engine, Ctrl, delivers the highest-value users and consistently outperforms the open market on user LTV in Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 countries. Ctrl-targeted users reach higher LTV on Day 0 than open market users reach by Day 30, exceed 50% LTV uplift by Day 3 in every tier, and continue generating triple-digit LTV growth velocity across later-stage revenue windows.
